Tender Description
The Victorian Infant Hearing Screening Program (VIHSP) has been operating from RCH since 2005, screening over 98.7% of eligible newborns each year. The program aims to detect the 1 per 1000 children born with a bilateral moderate degree or greater hearing loss using automated equipment to screen the Auditory Brainstem Response and determine the need for diagnostic audiological assessment. Early screening facilitates early detection and intervention resulting in improved outcomes for babies with hearing loss. Currently hearing screening is available in 71 (Private, Public) hospitals and outpatient clinics across Victoria.
The objective of the Invitaiton to Supply is for the provision of newborn hearing screening devices to replace the current 77 hand held devices, comprehensive service maintenance agreements and consumables for the Victorian Infant Hearing Screening Program for the duration of the Agreement.
