Ports North (PN) is responsible for the development and management of port facilities vital to the development of Cairns and regional centres in Far North Queensland. The Corporation has extensive property, marina, tourism and cargo facilities in Cairns and its regional ports.
PN owns and maintains the Cairns Marlin Marina. The outer berths of the marina include over 160 individual vertical steel universal beam section fenders that extend to the seabed. The fender beams are fitted with wearing strips and are supported on cone fender units.
The paint coatings to the universal beam sections are in need of repairs and maintenance. PN intends to undertake coating repairs on an initial 32 fenders. Works will include the removal and reinstatement of the wearing strips, cone fenders and other attachments.
PN requests Tender Submissions from suitably qualified and available Contractors with appropriate experience in the application of high quality marine paint systems for the provision of these works. Works are within an operational marina and include the provision of appropriate access and environmental controls in the tidal zone.
