This Request for Proposal (RFP) invites Respondents to submit a proposal for the provision of any or all of the requirements for Environment Canterbury's Driver Safety Programmes.
About us
Environment Canterbury's (ECan) vision is to facilitate sustainable development in the Canterbury region by recognising and providing for cultural values, supporting economic growth and enabling community aspirations to be met.
We work to manage the air, land and water so it can be enjoyed by everybody and work in partnership with the communities of Canterbury to promote the sustainable management of our resources.
We are a very diverse organisation with staff from Kaikoura to Timaru and have on average 600 employees with around 200 field-based staff who travel frequently for their day to day jobs.
Our fleet consists of 154 vehicles in total which are 2009-2018 models. 106 of those vehicles are 4x4 (4WD). Our fleet gets upgraded every 3-5years and our main suppliers are Ford, Mazda, Toyota and Suzuki.
Environment Canterbury are also looking at integrating electric vehicles and hope to have a fully electric fleet within the next 5 years.

The safety of our staff and the public is of paramount importance to us and our aim is to try and minimize any potential risks that may occur on and off road.
What we need
Environment Canterbury wants to provide proactive Driver Safety programmes to our staff who regularly utilize our company fleet to ensure they have a good understanding of the road code and safety features in the vehicles.
