Overview
The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) requires a capable and reliable supplier to provide ongoing navigation training for Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) officers.
Purpose
This training has previously been delivered by an external provider due to constrained internal instructor capacity. This procurement returns the requirement to the open market to identify a supplier that can deliver reliable continuity, maintain current and relevant course material, and ensure training outcomes remain aligned with RNZN operational and professional standards.
Scope
The scope includes:
- Development and sustainment of the professional knowledge and practical skills required to safely navigate naval vessels in peacetime and warfare environments
- Support for officers as they progress towards senior watchkeeping and command roles
- Delivery of training on an ongoing basis to meet annual training demand
- Maintenance of consistent instructional standards, safety outcomes, and assessment integrity across the life of the contract
Contractor Requirements
- Capability and reliability to provide ongoing navigation training for RNZN officers
- Ability to maintain current and relevant course material
- Ability to ensure training outcomes remain aligned with RNZN operational and professional standards
