MASC are undertaking a series of Capital works projects planned at Castlemaine Waste Facility. This includes a scope of works which has been identified to implement safety improvements at the Waste Transfer Station (WTS), as well as some wall protection measures and litter control. The primary concerns are:
* Bulk haulage operations at the WTS, and the Landfill, and the potential for cross over with the public
* The commercial operation of the kerbside trucks and heavy plant and equipment
* Falling from heights from the top of the push pit
* Protecting the push walls from damage by the loader
* Prevention of litter

The scope of works detailed in this Request for Tender (RFT) pertain to the upgrades to the Waste Transfer Station (WTS) including subgrade and pavement improvements, additional concrete hardstands, removal of existing fencing and barriers and replacing with new, drainage improvements, linemarking and signage and provision of a new boom gate, push wall protection and litter management.

The upgrades have been designed by Beveridge Williams and FORM Engineering. Refer attachments for full details.

The Castlemaine Facility is fully operational and will be accessed by both residents and waste disposal Contractors during the proposed upgrade works.
