South Western Sydney PHN, in partnership with One Door Mental Health, seeks to commission a Recovery College in South Western Sydney, for people living with severe mental illness, their carers and service providers. The SWS Recovery College aims to provide education programs that support recovery, build confidence, independence, and personal and professional capacity to those who engage with the college.
Through co-design with key stakeholders, and an investigation of current literature, South Western Sydney PHN have developed a SWS Recovery College, based on evidence, best practice and regional needs. The successful applicant will deliver a South Western Sydney Recovery College built on evidence-based recovery college principles including co-production, adult education, recovery-oriented practice and community college models.
The service will be available across the 7 LGAs, by leveraging on strategic partnerships with Government and non-Government agencies. It will be available at various times, including after hours, with flexible study options based on the needs of the students.
Fundamental to the model is combining lived experience of mental illness with clinical expertise through co-facilitation and co-learning
