Country SA PHN is seeking proposals from organisations for the provision of psychosocial support services in the Murray Mallee, Riverland and Limestone Coast regions, commencing January 2019.
Organisations must be currently providing psychosocial services within these regions to be eligible to apply.
The National Psychosocial Support Measure (NPS) aims to provide psychosocial support services to assist people with several mental illness with a reduction in psychosocial functional capacity but who are not eligible for assistance through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). These services, in partnership with families and carers (as appropriate), provide a range of non-clinical community-based support to these individuals to achieve their recovery goals.
The NPS program is focused on the delivery of non-clinical psychosocial supports services to eligible clients. Support is generally short term and flexible in its approach and can be closely connected with mental health treatment services as per client needs.
Services include group-based and individual support with the aim to reduce social isolation and increase sustainable community participation (either socially or economically). Services (including relevant group options) need to be developed via ongoing collaboration with consumers and carers within each of the regional areas to ensure relevancy and appropriateness.
