Expressions of Interest for the Brightening Bentleigh project are open until 2pm Wednesday 31 October.
Council, in conjunction with Department of Justice and Regulations, is calling for Expressions of Interest from artists:
* to paint a large place-making mural potentially at 409 and 440 Centre Road in Bentleigh; and
* deliver positive art education sessions to local high school students.
This exciting project gives artists the opportunity to get their art on the streets, while making a valuable contribution to the community through graffiti prevention education. The mural will contribute to the vibrancy and life of Bentleigh, celebrating the growth of a creative artistic and culturally diverse community.
Education sessions to established youth groups will focus on the negative impacts graffiti can have on the community and how positive murals can be used to counter act this.
