Tender Description
SPS3004 and RM3004 - This contract is for the supply, construction and testing of a new rising main and wet weather storage at Byron Shire Council’s Sewerage Pumping Station SPS3004 in Milton Street, Byron Bay.
SPS3004 is located in the Milton Street road reserve on the north east corner of the Shirley Lane intersection. The alignment of the existing DN150 PVC rising main (SRM3004) is no longer considered appropriate and a new alignment is required.
This new alignment will be cut into SRM3004 at a point near the station and will connect to a larger rising main in the Byron Road reserve at the southern end of Milton Street. This larger main (SRM3002) is a DN375 DICL main running from the Tennyson Street SPS to the treatment works on the west side of Byron Bay.
Additional Wet weather storage will be constructed in the form of approximately 15m of DN1500 RC pipes laid out in three runs. Each will be installed in Milton Street and will include end caps, vents and a connecting DN225 gravity sewer to the SPS.
SP3004 and SRM3002 are live sewer assets. All work carried out on these must be undertaken in accordance with AS 2865 (Safe Working in a Confined Space). If isolation of any live asset is required to carry out the works, the contractor must provide flow control such as bypass pumping for the duration of the works.
