Tender Description
Powerlink seeks the assistance of an Implementation Partner in the development and delivery of the following;
1. Design of an iPhone application for GPS Navigation that includes the following functionality;
a. Use of the existing GIS data available within Powerlink describing the extent of the Powerlink owned infrastructure (substations, transmission lines, land and telecommunications sites);
b. The inclusion of Powerlink’s access tracks for display and navigation;
c. The ability to set a route and navigate to any Powerlink asset, e.g. substation, tower and communication site;
d. The ability to navigate to commercial points of interest such as Service Stations, and vehicle wash-down sites;
e. The ability to display off-line maps when there is no mobile coverage; and
f. The ability to set a route when there is no mobile coverage.
2. The data processing of the Powerlink GIS data to join and visually verify the private access track network to public road data so that it can be used for navigation to Powerlink assets;
3. Provide all required support documentation to ensure all required support personnel are equipped to support the new iPhone application;
4. Training - Plan, approach and development of supporting documents; and
5. Updates - Plan and approach to provide regular updates to the iPhone application and mapping data.
