Tender Description

Western Water is currently considering transitioning our metering to a fleet of integrated digital meters. The key objectives of this transition are:

a) Customers: To better meet the needs and expectations of our customers.
b) Efficiency: To extract efficiencies in the way we operate and enable continued downwards pressure on water pricing for our customers.
c) Environment and community: To ensure Western Water is able to most efficiently use our limited water resources and contribute to a highly liveable, viable region.
d) Innovation: To leverage partnerships and technology to create future opportunities.

As part of this transition, Western Water would like to engage with competent suppliers of IoT communications services. We are particularly seeking to develop a detailed understanding of the currently available network providers and service offerings with a view to determining their ability to meet our requirements at this time; particularly in terms of technology, service levels and cost. Respondents should note that Western Water reserves the right to not proceed with any of the quotations received should none meet our requirements.

We are specifically looking to engage with providers of the following IoT communications types:
1. NB-IoT;
2. LoRaWAN; and
3. Sigfox.
