Tender Description
Murray River Crossing Echuca-Moama Bridge Project
Murray River Crossing Echuca-Moama Bridge Project
Echuca in Victoria, and Moama in New South Wales are connected by a single Murray River Bridge which was built in 1878. This crossing provides an important link for local traffic between the two towns and surrounding regions.
Alongside NSW Roads and Maritime Services (Roads and Maritime), the Victorian government has carried out extensive planning investigations to identify options for a second Murray River crossing to connect Echuca and Moama.
In March 2016 the Victorian Minister for Planning approved the Echuca-Moama Bridge Project which was a key step towards delivering the long-awaited second Murray River crossing. The project was approved in NSW in April 2016.
This approval allowed VicRoads and Roads and Maritime to finalise development of the preferred Mid-West option for the bridge route, which will connect the Murray Valley Highway and Warren Street at Echuca with the Cobb Highway at Perricoota Road in Moama.
Stage One - Murray Valley Highway/Warren Street Intersection Upgrade.
This has been awarded to RE Civil Pty Ltd.
