Merlynston Progress Hall Refurbishment Construction

⁠⁠⁠Moreland City Council is seeking a qualified and experienced contractor to undertake refurbishment and construction works at Merlynston Progress Hall, 1 Novian Street, Coburg North. The Hall was built in the 1920's and is located in a General Residential Zone (schedule1) with a Heritage Overlay (Schedule HO400). It is identified as a place of local historical, social and architectural significance but is not listed on the Victoria Heritage Register.

The local community, represented by the Merlynston Sustainability Group (MSG) has a long-held vision to return the facility to public use as the dynamic community hub it was in its earlier life. In recent years, residents have sustained a vigorous campaign for Council capital investment to repair and refurbish the facility to realise this vision.

Moreland City Council is committed to refurbishing Merlynston Hall, to as similar as possible to its original build, meeting all the necessary NCC, DDA and other building regulations.

Mandatory site inspections will be held at Merlynston Hall on:
* Tuesday 8 August 2017 between 1PM - 2PM and;
* Tuesday 15 August 2017 between 1PM - 2PM
