Tender Description
With over 3,600 staff and covering an area a quarter the size of Victoria, Bendigo Health Care Group (BHCG) is a 653 bed service that annually:
* Treats over 42,000 in-patients;
* Admits more than 1700 children aged under 16 years to our Child and Adolescent Unit;
* Deals with over 50,000 emergency attendances, including almost 11,000 ambulance arrivals to the Emergency Department;
* Delivers more than 1,300 babies;
* Conducts almost 82,000 outpatient appointments.
These services are complemented by a 60-bed rehabilitation unit, ten bed critical care unit and five operating theatres where more than 12,500 surgical procedures are performed annually.
The organisation provides services in emergency, maternity, women's health, medical imaging, pathology, rehabilitation, community services, residential aged care, psychiatric care, community dental, hospice, palliative care, cardiology, cancer services and renal dialysis to the people of the Loddon Mallee region.
The three main campuses of BHCG are in Bendigo, with many services extended to regional settings including areas such as Mildura, Echuca, Swan Hill, Kyneton and Castlemaine. Demand on services is increasing rapidly with Bendigo being one of Victoria’s fastest growing regional cities. BHCG and the Victorian Government are committed to delivering high quality health-care to the community of Bendigo and the greater Loddon Mallee region.
The new Bendigo hospital opened in January 2017 and will progressively increase the operational capacity to include:
* 372 inpatient beds;
* 72 same-day acute beds:
* An 80 bed integrated psychiatric inpatient unit, including a five bed mother and baby unit;
* 11 Operating theatres;
* A Regional Integrated Cancer Centre.
BHCG is seeking quotations for the provision of older persons transitional residential accommodation and psychosocial rehabilitation services (Transitional Services).
The Transitional Services should provide a package of interventions, tailored to individual needs and designed to prevent “falling out” of society and are designed to facilitate the return to community living for adults and older people with serious mental illness and enduring psychosocial disabilities. These interventions address the following areas:
* Skills for daily living;
* Social interaction and daily activities;
* Promoting wellness.
The model should address the transition to community accommodation that matches consumer needs and is of their choice. The model is to focus on support the transition to community that will increase the likelihood of sustainable living and support consumers to take full advantages of the opportunities offered through NDIS and Commonwealth Home Support Packages.
The Transitional Services are to be located in the Loddon Mallee Southern Mallee Region.
