Western Water's service area is experiencing rapid growth, requiring a substantial increase in our capital investment. Over the years, our annual capital program has been typically in the range of $20m to $30m, with a peak of some $37m in the late 2000s. More recently our annual capital investment has been $20m or less. FY2015/16 saw the start of the increase in capital investment, with expenditure of over $35m. The capital investment budget for FY16/17 is almost $80m and master planning projections forecast a similar level of capital investment for years to come, driven by growth.
Western Water is seeking an engineering services partner to support us to deliver the required capital investment. The engineering services partner will form a key strategic partnership with Western Water to deliver value for our customers, by streamlining and enhancing our infrastructure delivery capability.
Western Water will shortly invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) from engineering services providers to support the delivery of our capital program over a multi-year term across water, wastewater and recycled water projects.
Western Water will be seeking to gain a more-detailed understanding of the supplier market and range of solutions that may be available to meet our needs. This EOI process, which will start with the release of the invite for EOI on or around 14 December 2016 and will conclude with the submission of EOI on 31 January 2017, will be the first stage of a multi-stage procurement process.
