QUT is seeking to replace its current Research Management Solution with an adaptable solution which supports existing core business requirements, as well as introducing capabilities not currently present. QUT requires a solution which will enable flexible, efficient and high value-add practices, organisational efficiences and the ability to optimise the opportunities provided by technology. We seek a solution that is agile and responsive to changes in the research and higher education sector, and in the university, to manage, monitor and measure the broad range of research activities and address the entire lifecycle of research management.
Our vision is to provide secure, simple access to the Research Management Solution from any device, anytime, anywhere, enhancing accountability and governance whilst delivering user-focussed, online, end-to-end services. Our mission is to enable a seamless, personalised user experience for all types of users. The process of engaging with the RMS should be intuitive, efficient and easy for our users to navigate.
While increasing usability and productivity is fundamental to our future direction, at its core the RMS will need to efficiently meet government, regulatory and institutional reporting requirements. The needs of the research community must be balanced with the needs of research support, embracing the principles of self service and process automation where possible to streamline administration.
