Replacement of Pool Liner Leisurelink Aquatic Centre

⁠⁠⁠The City of Greater Geelong invites tenders from suitably experienced companies to undertake Replacement of the Pool Liner at the Leisurelink Aquatic Centre.

The work to be performed under the Contract is:

In general terms, removal and replacement of vinyl pool liner (50m pool) at the Leisurelink Aquatic Centre, Grovedale.
Tenderers are to submit 2 pricing options for Council consideration;
1. Price to remove and replace entire vinyl pool liner; &
2. Price to remove and replace vinyl pool liner from below tiling.

Other works include:
Supply, erection, maintenance and final removal of a timber framed ply sheeted dividing wall to divide the 50 metre pool area from the remainder of the pool building as the other pools will remain in service during these works;

Attending the site during emptying of the pool. (Pool emptied by Council);

Removal, protection and setting aside of the fabricated pediment ends to the pool which can be undertaken while the pool is emptying and including reinstallation on completion;

Protection of all adjacent surfaces including; The access entry point to the pool hall, the concourses between the access point and the pool perimeter, the boom, all tiled and vinyl surfaces to be retained, all stainless steel fittings and handrails, the headwalls at the pool ends and any other item or fitting to be retained in or adjacent to the pool and the works to be undertaken;

Propping, moving and re-positioning of the boom during the works;

Removal of the portions of the existing liner that have been agreed to be removed and replaced including removal off site to a point of approved disposal;

Removal and disposal off site of pool tiling if that becomes part of the work depending on Council's decision based upon the optional prices submitted;

Drying out of the pool interior and preparation for installation of the new liner including all required PVC strips and other interfaces with existing surfaces that are to be retained;

Installation of the new vinyl liner;

Welding-on of the new black vinyl floor and end wall markings to match the requirements of the drawing identified as Appendix 'A" and to meet FINA regulations;

Trimming and sealing around filtered water inlets, soiled water outlets and any other penetration through the liner being installed;

Inspection and testing of the seam welds in the vinyl liner installation including the preparation of a witnessed summary of the welds as completed and inspected;

Attendance and supervision as the pool is filled to adjust the liner to remove bubbles and wrinkles and to attend the boom as it re-floats;
Clean up on completion including removal off site of all debris and offcuts to return the pool area to the clean condition that existed at commencement of work;

Removal of protective covering and wrapping from adjacent surfaces and fittings;

Provide warranties as described in specification.

Mandatory Site Inspection:
Please be advised that Council will conduct a mandatory site inspection at 11.00am Thursday 6 October 2016 onsite (meet at entrance). Prospective tenderers must attend this site inspection. Failure of a tenderer to attend will result in their tender being excluded as a non-conforming tender.

Council representatives will be present to discuss details regarding the project and the tender process.

Tenderers should address the criteria in the returnable schedules with capability and experience, proposed methodology and availability of the tenderer to commence the works in early January 2017 and to complete the works promptly will be well regarded.
