Provision of Underground Cable Laying within Ausgrid

⁠⁠⁠Ausgrid invites the lodgement of tenders in accordance with the attached RFT documents for the provision companies capable of completing underground distribution cable laying works in Ausgrid's South Region, North Sydney, East Region, Central Coast Region and Newcastle and Hunter Region (or any one of these regions).

Successful companies will be required to provide holistic services including trenching, excavation, boring, conduit installation, cable installation, backfilling and temporary road reinstatement, while in control of all aspect on the Works engaged as the Principal Contractor. Companies will also be required to provide labour and equipment hire services.

The scope of the work for this Request for Tenders is more fully detailed in the Specifications included as Schedules of the Master Supply Deed (MSD).

Ausgrid is inviting tenders from experienced contractors with the expertise, systems and capability to assist Ausgrid continue this long standing relationship with the external market for underground distribution cable laying works from 1 November 2016.

The initial MSD term will commence on (or not before) 1 November 2016 and is due to expire on (or not before) 31 October 2019. The initial term will therefore be for up to three years from the date of execution of the MSD. Ausgrid will have the option to offer three additional extension terms of one year each.

Respondents must satisfy the following mandatory criteria:
* attendance at the pre-tender meeting
* tender submitted on time
* quality, safety and environmental systems will be evaluated against minimum MSD requirements
* completed similar works as a principal contractor
* annual turnover greater than $10 million per annum on average for previous three years
* must be able to service all regions of Ausgrid for works over $500 thousand
* must have a depot located in each region tendered or commit to establishing and maintaining a depot in each region tendered throughout the Term.

A mandatory pre-tender meeting will be held at 10:30 am, Friday 29 July 2016, at Ausgrid's Learning Centre, 48-50 Holker Street, Silverwater, NSW, in Auditorium 1. All prospective respondents must attend this meeting.

A maximum of two representatives from each company can be accommodated. Prospective respondents must register their intention to attend the pre-tender meeting by emailing Mr Marlon Murray on mmurray@ausgrid.com.au by 3.00 pm on Thursday 28 July 2016.
