Scope:

This This contract is for minor shoulder widening work on roadside and median on the section of Barton Highway with dual carriageway on the Northern end of the highway that connects to Hume Highway as a part of Road Safety Project. This section of Barton Highway is two lane carriageway, divided road with a median posted speed limit of 110km/h.

The scopes of work generally comprise of the following but not limited to:

Pavement Widening Scope:

The proposed shoulder widening works would involve the following (but not limited to):

• Site investigation/ familiarisation as necessary

• Establishment of Traffic Controls

• Installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment controls

• Excavate pavement widening at specified location including placement to widened formation

• Rip and recompact and proof roll to prepare subgrade

• Import, place and compact 150mm DGS20 subbase to R71 Specification

• Import, place and compact 150mm DGB20 Base course to R71 Specification

• Supply and install 14/7mm double/double seal to R106 specification

• Testing to TfNSW specifications

• Trimming trees as required after identification and notification by the Environmental and Sustainability Officer (Approximately 20 natural regrowth non hollow bearing trees)

Tenders are invited to tender for the minor shoulder widening works on the roadside median sections of the Barton Highway. These works are located on the northern dual carriageway section of the highway connecting to the Hume Highway, and form part of a broader Road Safety Project.

The works include the establishment of traffic control measures, the installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment controls, and the importation, placement, and compaction of a 150 mm DGS20 subbase. This is followed by a 150 mm DGB20 base course and a 14/7 mm double–double seal applied in accordance with TfNSW specifications, including all required testing.

An online pre-tender meeting will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, 10 June 2026. Attendance at the pre-tender meeting is mandatory to submit a conforming tender.
