Tender Description

Council is seeking experienced solution integration partners to supply and assist in installing and configuring on premise Storage Area Network (SAN), Servers, Tape Backup and software to provide disaster recovery solution outcomes. This includes assistance in configuration, training and some project management.

1. Replace the existing fibre channel switched SAN infrastructure at both the primary and DR sites with a new high performance hybrid enterprise class solution with a proven track record, market penetration and support backing. Storage to scale for the next 2 years initially and solution to scale on-premise beyond this if required.
2. Replace the existing data and workload replication solution with an equivalent robust and flexible asynchronous solution to support targeted data and workload recovery and full non disruptive DR activation testing twice a year.
3. Replace the existing long term data protection tape based backup hardware infrastructure at the primary and DR sites and match with increased throughput and capacity. LTO-6 or 7 Ultrium.
4. Replace related server infrastructure at both sites with the next level of fast flexible high performing and highly available compute resources for hypervisor and related workload hosting.
5. To provide a compatible and highly integrated solution for the existing Commvault Simpana software to manage tape based backup/recovery for virtual and physical servers and data.
6. To raise overall storage and network connectivity performance to the next industry standard level for all user and maintenance workloads via the use of up to date storage and network connectivity standards.
7. Integrate and be fully compatible with multiple industry hypervisors for host existing and future virtual workloads and solutions.
