Case Management is the process that commences with the identification of a potential breach of the Fair Work Act or the Building Code, and the management of the actions that follow.
For potential breaches of the Fair Work Act it involves undertaking investigative activities to determine whether a breach has occured, identifying stakeholders, preparing a legal case and proceeding to civilly prosecute individuals, companies and organisations that have breached the Act.
For the Building Code, case management generally involves assessing compliance through inspection and audit processes, and where non-compliance is found, warning or sanctioning the relevant company as well as requiring rectification.
FWBC is seeking a new CMS that supports the case management process, provides standard reporting, and exports information required for ad hoc reporting and information analysis functions. It must either integrate with FWBC's existing iBase installation, or provide an alternative information analysis and complex reporting tool. In addition to these minimum requirements, in its ATM document the FWBC has also highlighted several broad functions that the CMS may also encompass.
