Overview:
Concerning the thermal and mechanical design of the expansion bellows for the cryogenic service.
Design condition
The general design should be in accordance with the relevant parts of ASME code.
* ANSI B 16.9: “Factory made wrought steel butt-welding fittings”
* ASTM A 182: “Forged or rolled alloy steel pipe, flanges, forged fittings, valves and parts for high-temperature service”
* ASTM A 312: “Seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel pipes”
* ASTM A 403: “Wrought austenitic stainless steel piping fittings.”
* ASTM A 409: “Wrought austenitic stainless steel piping fittings.”
* ASTM A 350 “General requirements for specialized carbon and alloy steel pipes”.
The expansion bellows fabrication and testing process will be approved for use on-board FLNG by the Classification Societies.
