For the Provision of Data Warehouse and Self-Service Reporting Services
Tender ID: 251377
Tender Details
Tender Description
NHMRC supports research and builds research capacity across the full spectrum of health and medical research including biomedical, clinical, public health and health services research.
In the context of open government and open data, opportunities exist for NHMRC to increase its role in the provision of health and medical research data and analytics by externalising and sharing its data through technology for use by the Government, broader health and medical research sector and the Australian public.
As such NHMRC anticipates expanding its data reporting and analytics capabilities over the medium to long term to strengthen its data driven decision making, better determine and assess health outcomes from medical research, and inform grant funding allocation decisions, particularly as funding from the Medical Research Future Fund grows.
To best position NHMRC to support the anticipated future state over the long term, NHMRC’s data warehouse and reporting capability needs to have the ability to cater for:
* Presentation and sharing of relevant structured and unstructured data, even if it is held remotely (for example, clinical and experimental data held by HMR institutions, or information about researcher scientific outputs held by third parties or other government agencies)
* Operability with advanced and predictive analytical tools to support the effective study and application of all the available data.
The current data reporting system is unable to expand to sufficiently meet the growing demands of the medium to long term reporting and analytics strategy.
The shorter term capabilities to be achieved through this RFT (implementing a new data warehouse and self-service reporting capability) will need to consider NHMRC’s longer term direction to enable the intended data reporting and advanced analytics capabilities.
