Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Comcare is conducting a Claims Management Services Pilot for workers’ compensation claims in the Commonwealth. This project is part of a business improvement process whereby Comcare is looking to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its claims management services. 

To undertake this project, Comcare seeks claims management providers (Claims Managers) to design and implement a Claims Management Model to support agencies with claims management. Two Agencies (Australian Government entities) will be participating in the Pilot. Comcare will delegate a number of its statutory functions around the determination of workers' compensation claims to these two Agencies. 

Contracted Claims Managers will undertake the administration of claims on behalf of the Agencies and advise Agencies in relation to exercising the delegated statutory functions. 

The Pilot will include two claim Portfolios. Each Portfolio will consist of claims from one Agency. The Portfolios will include all existing claims 0-24 months old and new claims received from employees of the agency within the period of the Pilot. 

The Pilot will commence on 4 February 2016 and initially run for a 12 month period, with the opportunity for extension.
