The project proposes to develop a themed ‘Art History Walk’ along the central spine of the Kinglake Ranges from Kinglake West to Kinglake.
The Heritage Trail will follow the route of the existing pedestrian walking paths located within the road reserve. Utilising locally designed interpretative signage, the walk will highlight sites of cultural, social, historic and environmental significance to the Kinglake Ranges. The walk will contain a mixture of key sites and minor sites.
The work to be performed under the contract is:
Construction sixteen (16) sites over 14 kilometres
Installation of thirty eight (38) glass panels mounted between 120 recycled timber posts
Construction of two rock walls with timber posts at Memorial Reserve Extons Road
Install seating at four sites
Extension of existing path to link with the memorial reserve
The work is to be performed between Kinglake West and Kinglake Township along the existing Walk path adjacent to Whittelsea – Kinglake Road. The sites are located over a 14 kilometre stretch.
PLEASE NOTE: Works MUST be completed by 1 January 2016.
