Provision of Internal Audit Services

⁠⁠⁠The Casey City Council has an Audit and Ethics Committee in accordance with s.139 of the Local Government Act 1989. The Audit and Ethics Committee of the Casey City Council operates under an existing charter. Under this Charter its duties include the overseeing of the following:

* External Audit
* Financial Reporting
* Internal Controls
* Ethical & Statutory Compliance
* Accounting & Investment Policies
* Internal Audit
* Fraud Policy & Procedures
* Risk Management
* Tendering

The external auditor carries out several of the actions required under these duties. The Committee and management carry out other actions. The Internal Auditor's objectives are to carry out a series of reviews which fulfil the outstanding duties of the Committee. Council and the community need to have confidence that the functions and services provided by Casey meet best value expectations for the above duties.
