His procurement seeks to contract one or more parties to provide these services in a commercial relationship financially beneficial to the Museum for the next 3 years (with options). The approach to market is parallel for the two components to allow ‘best of breed’ relationships for each, or allow a provider to propose an integrated approach to both.
The Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences is inviting Proposals from experienced operators to provide catering services for functions at the Powerhouse Museum. We are seeking a limited number of caterers who have a demonstrated record in catering for events and the ability to generate business at the Museum. The successful caterers will have the opportunity to work in one of Sydney’s iconic Museums, where their existing reputation and success will be enhanced through this opportunity.
The provision of food and beverage services at the Powerhouse Museum covers a broad client base including the corporate, government, association, and private market sectors. Types of functions include conferences, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, cocktail receptions, product launches and weddings.
Function spaces include three tiered theatres accommodating up to 300 guests, a diverse range of permanent and temporary exhibition areas accommodating up to 1000 guests for a cocktail reception or 200 guests for a dinner, and boardrooms accommodating up to 50 guests.
Currently, function catering services a small number of functions at Sydney Observatory. A 10 metre by 20 metre marquee is available for hire at Sydney Observatory for 60 days per calendar year. The marquee can accommodate up to 150 guests for a dinner or 200 guests for a cocktail reception. Types of functions include wedding receptions, dinners and Christmas parties.
