Principal Representative Advisor for Alfred Health Urgent Infrastructure (Main Works)

The Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) is seeking a Principal Representative Advisor for the Alfred Health Urgent Infrastructure (Main Works) project.

About

The Alfred Hospital is an integral part of the Victorian health system, treating Victoria's most acute and complex patients as one of only two adult trauma services in Victoria. It also provides services for major burns, heart and lung transplants, advanced life support, and cardiothoracic surgery.

Purpose

The Alfred Hospital now requires urgent updates to its infrastructure to address infrastructure failures and fire safety compliance issues. Delivering this scope within a live healthcare environment requires careful consideration of multiple design disciplines and strong integration with existing building assets, services and operations.

Scope

The scope of the project includes:

• Construction and Site Interface: Oversee the on-site activities by the contractor and any required site interface with Bayside Health
• Scheduling and Coordination: Monitor the Builder's project schedule/programme to ensure all work sequences are optimised, milestones are met and any slippage is reported to VIDA Health
• Quality Control: Perform routine inspections to verify that all work complies with project documentation and building codes
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate site progress records for report back to VIDA Health
• Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the builder, design consultants, Bayside Health and VIDA Health
• Liaise with the Quantity Surveyor for assessment of payment claims and variations
• Advise VIDA Health on assessment of claims from the builder for extension of time and delay costs
• Closeout Management: Lead the final inspection process, manage the close-out of the defects list, and assist in the preparation of project closeout documentation
• Consult with the Relevant Building Surveyor prior to VIDA Health issuing the Certificate of Practical Completion, the Final Certificate, and any other documents to represent completed works
• Attend site twice per week, plus as required via MS Teams
