Tender Description
Dwight Reserve located at Yorktown Road, Elizabeth Park, is a district level sports facility that primarily caters for football and cricket. It is home to the Eastern Park Football & Cricket Club, Eastern Park Netball Club and Eastern Park Softball Club. Dwight Reserve is identified as a high priority project within Council’s Sports Facility Strategy which recommends:
- “Consider upgraded clubrooms and changerooms, parking and entrance”
- “Upgrade of changerooms and additional toilets is an urgent priority.”
The current facility does not adequately service the participants at the site. There are fundamental design issues that warrant an urgent upgrade which includes:
- Changerooms are non-compliant due to the following
- Undersized against the AFL Community Facility Guidelines
- Away changeroom lacks privacy which is not suitable for male or female participants.
- Shared wet areas for home and away teams.
- No dedicated umpires changeroom
- Undersupply of changerooms which makes it difficult for players to access the changerooms when there is a crossover of fixtures. This is particularly an issue when a female game is before or after a men’s game.
- Undersupply of toilets - the clubroom toilets service the social area and the changerooms.
- Undersupply of carparking to meet AFL Community Facility guidelines
