George Knott Reserve is the centre for athletics in Yarra and used by athletics clubs which cater to all ages and abilities. It also has a community soccer pitch located in the central area of the track. It is bounded by Heidelberg Road, Capital City Trail and Merri Creek. The existing sports lighting at George Knott Reserve is to be upgraded to improve the lighting of the athletics track and install more energy efficient lights. The upgrade will then meet the IAAF standard for athletics.
Works include removal and disposal of existing poles, footings, termination and making safe existing conduits and cabling, trenching for new conduit runs, supply and install new concrete footings, supply and install new poles and luminaires, supply and install new conduits and cabling, backfilling of trenches, obtaining building permits and approvals from building surveyor, removal and disposal of excess spoil demolition, provision of as built surveys in A-spec data format for Council’s asset management system.
