Detective’s Area Expansion - Karratha District

⁠⁠⁠The Western Australia Police Force (The Customer) is seeking offers for expansion works to be carried out in the Detective’s area in the Karratha District, located at 38 Hill View Road KARRATHA WA as described in this Request.

Scope:

1. Contractor to communicate a suitable time with the stations Officer in Charge (OIC) to make safe of electrical services within walls to be demolished.

2. Provide floor protection and removal services for one (1) day. Two (2) x Removalists to relocate existing furniture/s (including computers, turned off by WA Police Force) and store onsite as directed by the OIC. Dilapidation photos to be taken by the contractor prior to furniture relocation.

3. Remove carpet from passage and old inquiry team office approx. 46 square metres. Carpet to be laid aside for repair.

4. Install new carpet—matching the existing Interface Aerial collection A310, Iron colour (or an equivalent product)—over an area of approx. 46 square metres.

5. Demolish and dispose two passage brick walls 2.7 metres high. One being. 6.5 metres long and the other 6 metres long.

6. Form a new opening into OPS room for 820mm door. Form and create new opening to entry of Detective’s area for 870mm door. 

7. Supply and install hardware to match existing Lockwood mortice lock bi-locked to existing key system.

8. Replace any ceilings damaged due to removal the walls.

9. Modify the light switching layout to suit each new room, with final switch locations to be confirmed with the OIC prior to installation. Replacement switches are to be installed adjacent to each door opening and fitted with flush mounted faceplates. All switches must have a minimum rating of 250V AC, 10A for general lighting circuits, with higher rating (16A) used where required for specialised fittings or increased loads. Switch mechanisms must comply with AS/NZS 3133 – Switches for household and similar fixed electrical installations.

10. Install additional four double data points, five additional double GPO’s and allow audio and visual feed from interview room to OIC’s office as directed by the OIC.

11. Make good to walls damaged. Apply new paint finish (2 coats) throughout. Colour to be Dulux Lexicon Quarter or equivalent.

12. Provide removal services for one (1) day to relocate furniture back.

 The Respondent may submit questions in relation to the Request documentation up to five business days before the closing date of this Request. The Contract Authority will not accept questions after this time.

If any questions raised result in the provision of additional information, this information will be provided to all Respondents by way of an addendum to the Request.

The Customer will endeavour to respond as quickly as possible after receipt of the question. However, the nature and extent of the questions will determine the timeframe within which the Customer will be able to respond.

To receive notification of any addenda issued, Respondents must be a registered supplier on Tenders WA that has logged in and downloaded a copy of the Request.

A site visit will be held at 38 Hill View Road, KARRATHA on 15 May, 2026 10:00 AM.
