This Tender is invited by the Issuer.
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW), ICT Division is seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Solution Architect. As part of a motivated multi-disciplinary team, you will have the privilege of working in a highly supportive environment with the potential to impact millions in Australia.
The successful candidate is required, but not limited to:
- Own and lead the end-to-end solution architecture for D365 application projects
- Provide strategic input to enterprise architecture and technology investment direction
- Define and document the architecture and solution design in line with Departmental practices
- Ensure solution design is in alignment with Microsoft Azure ecosystem, D365 architectural standards, design principles, configuration-over-customisation guardrails, DevOps and security principles
- Provide technical leadership to project delivery teams and contribute to multi-disciplinary agile ways of working
- Lead design workshops, architecture reviews and act as the accountable authority for technical design and solution integrity
- Oversee and guide the development of applications/services on the D365 platform including data, security and compliance, data migration and integration
- Evaluate and recommend new features, functions, tools and practices to enhance solution architecture
- Design and plan integrations between Dynamics and enterprise platforms or third party solutions
- Provide advice on technical issues and play an active role in mitigating technology risks
- Work with the enterprise architecture team to leverage (where applicable):
- Enterprise architecture principles, standards and guidelines
- Enterprise architecture frameworks, patterns and technologies
- Governance arrangements around design
- Participate in architecture group forums to align D365 projects with the broader frameworks and practices within the division.
Skills & Experience required:
- Support the delivery team in translating business needs and requirements into system specifications
- Contribute across all phases of projects (e.g., Plan, Analyse, Design, Build, Test and Rollout)
- Partner with cross-functional technology and design teams to ensure consistent solution delivery
- Define the Product Backlog Items (PBIs) including acceptance criteria for technical work packages and activities
- Work closely with the project team to ensure DevOps items are being managed to meet timeframes, timely development sprints are achieved and defects are resolved
- Work in a fast-paced agile operating environment adopting delivery in sprints
- Create and update solution architecture artefacts such as architecture model, high level design, process maps and technical papers
- Excellent creative problem-solving skills
- Experience working in an Agile and Iterative Development approach
- Work independently in complex situations with a pragmatic approach to allocated work, demonstrating commitment to project outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality, concise, easy to read and relevant documentation for digital services that may include user research, service design, architecture and analysis documentation.

- Experience working within federal government
