The Department of Finance (Finance) is seeking to undertake an Approach to Market (ATM) process to procure Project Management services.

The Enterprise Systems and Services Division (ESSD) delivers shared enterprise resource planning (ERP) services to 16 Australian Government entities. Within ESSD, the Digital Services Branch is responsible for managing the SAP ERP platform and the delivery of digital initiatives to improve services, including a major modernisation activity converting an existing SAP ECC6 landscape to SAP S/4HANA.

The role is critical to the effective operation of the ESSD and is responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of enterprise ICT infrastructure projects, including (but not limited to) the implementation of a new gateway and the migration of various services to cloud platforms. The role ensures infrastructure outcomes are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to agreed milestones, while providing clear direction, actively managing risks and dependencies, and maintaining strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders.

The Project Manager will contribute to governance activities and respond to stakeholder and project‑related enquiries. Reporting to the Director, Major Projects and the Assistant Secretary, Digital Services Branch, the role ensures consistent delivery against approved schedules and project documentation.

Working across multidisciplinary teams within the ESSD and broader Finance Department, the Project Manager will promote collaboration and accountability. As a senior role, strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to effectively engage the ESSD’s various stakeholders and support successful project outcomes.
