Facility Design Grants Program

⁠⁠⁠This program will provide financial assistance to organisations to fund schematic designs or quantity surveyor costs for redevelopment or new facilities, where communities conduct, organise and participate in sport and recreation.

What types of things are funded through the Facility Design Grants?

The Facility Design Grants Program offers grants of up to $7500 to help organisations pay for schematic designs or quantity surveyor costs to redevelop their facilities, or to plan new ones.

This funding will help sporting groups with financial capacity and relevant projects to be “shovel ready” for future applications to grant programs.

Organisations whose main facilities are in the Corangamite Shire are eligible to apply and it is hoped the program would improve residents’ experience of taking part in sport and recreation.

Council is committed to supporting opportunities for people to engage in healthy and active lifestyles, and to providing high-quality community facilities

Eligibility

Eligible applicants will be:

• Organisations whose primary facility is located in the Corangamite Shire.
• Providing improved facilities for participants and officials which meet the principles of universal design and relevant State Sporting Association facility development guidelines.
• Improving and enhancing the experience of participation in sport and recreation.

How do I apply?

The Facility Design Grants Program is now a rolling program and accepts applications year round.

Period of grant

It is expected that designs / costs will be completed by 30 June of the following year.

Timeline

Applications are received annually. Applicants are generally advised of the outcome of their application within two (2) weeks of the Council meeting. Unless otherwise agreed, an Acquittal will be required 31 May the year following grant allocation.
