Tender Description
This Tender is invited by the Issuer.
This engagement of cloud engineers supports and extends ongoing cloud engineering and platform management functions previously delivered through a combination of internal and external resourcing.
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) require the services of Azure Cloud Engineers to design, build, and engineer solutions within its Microsoft Azure environment. This role directly supports the Department’s cloud first strategy and is critical to maintaining secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud platforms. In addition, Cloud Engineers may be required to support AWS infrastructure as part of the Department’s multi cloud approach.
The Cloud Engineer contributes to DCCEEW’s digital transformation agenda through the delivery and uplift of cloud infrastructure, automation, infrastructure as code, and alignment with enterprise cloud architecture, security, and compliance frameworks. The role supports multiple internal stakeholders, including Application Delivery teams, Cyber Security, Network Services, and ICT Operations.
A capability gap currently exists within the Cloud Services team due to increased delivery demand, growth in Azure hosted workloads, and the need for higher order engineering capability to support complex designs, uplift legacy implementations, and embed automation and governance at scale. This engagement ensures continuity of delivery, improved engineering outcomes, and adherence to departmental cloud standards and financial controls.
