Building Certification Services

Cook Shire Council invites tenders from suitably qualified tenderers for the provision of building certification services

• The successful provider will be required to provide staff on-site at Council’s offices in Cooktown for one to two (2) days a week on average (as necessary) with a minimum of seventy (70) days per year.

• Additional support and assessment work can be provided off-site at the provider’s offices.

• The provider will be required to retain Cook Shire files, records and correspondence as shared by Council in accordance with privacy act / Council policy for on-going applications and referencing.

• The scheduling of work locations will be determined on an on-going basis as determined by Council.

• The provider may be required to travel to destination within Cook Shire, to undertake inspections, as required and approved by Council.

• The provider must have their own 4WD vehicle available for inspections, unless by necessity travelling with another Council employee, in which case a Council vehicle may be provided for specific inspections, as approved by the Manager Planning & Environment or the Chief Operating Officer.

The term of the engagement is anticipated to be three (3) years with the option to extend the contract for a further two (2) years subject to continued need and availability of funds.
