Tender Description

The department is seeking one or more suppliers to design and deliver 5-day (4-night) residential Maths Camps from Term 2 school holiday period/T erm 3 2026 to end of Term 4 2028, for Years 9 and 10 students interested in advanced mathematical pathways.

Suppliers may respond as a single supplier and are also free to form a consortium to deliver the required services under one lead supplier. The department requires all proposals to have a nominated lead supplier and does not accept proposals with shared responsibility across many suppliers.

Participation by Victorian government school students in the 5-day (4 night) camps will be fully funded. The supplier/s will be required to deliver 24 camps in total across the funded period, during term time and school holidays commencing from Term 2 school holiday period/Term 3 2026, providing 960 student places.

The selected Supplier/s will be required to collaborate with CHES to design and deliver the Maths Camps, where mathematics and physics specialists facilitate workshops and real-world, team-based projects requiring mathematical problem-solving skills. Focus areas may include number theory, abstract algebra, chaos theory, machine learning, cryptography, and pandemic modelling. Maths Camps activities may include guest speakers, including from STEM industries as well as students currently undertaking university qualifications in mathematics.

The Supplier/s will be responsible for accepting and processing student applications to attend camps, the total logistics for delivery of a fully residential camp model that meets Child Safe Standards, developing and delivering a camp program of engaging and enriching advanced mathematical activities in collaboration with CHES, and reporting on outcomes in line with departmental directives.

The delivery of the Maths Camps initiative for 2026-2028 can be categorised into 5 key deliverables consisting of 12 components, as detailed in the Statement of Requirements document which can be accessed and downloaded from the DE Supplier portal (Oracle).
