Mundowy Lane Upgrade
Tender ID: 603020
Tender Details
Tender Description
Upgrade of the southern section of Mundowy Lane, 120 new culverts will be placed under the roadway, with minor raising over 2 sections of approximately 400 m in length.
Project goals
The Mundowy Lane project aims to provide the following benefits:
· ability to accommodate higher environmental flows along the flow corridor, benefitting wetlands and floodplains downstream
· less overtopping of Mundowy Lane in times of natural high flows, resulting in less disruption to local communities
· less servicing and maintenance of the road and road verges
· reduced costs for Wagga Wagga City Council (WWCC) who need to provide traffic control for extended periods during partial or full closure of the road during floods.
Scope
The southern section of Mundowy Lane to be upgraded to a level preventing inundation during flows up to 45,000 ML/day at Wagga Wagga.
New culverts are to be placed under the roadway, with minor raising over 2 sections of approximately 400 m in length. This will allow the passage of higher flows through the culverts, reducing the risk of damage to the road and mitigating impacts to adjacent properties.
