Tender Description

Overview

The Dinawan Energy Hub is an integrated wind farm, solar farm and battery energy storage system (BESS) approximately 1 GW in capacity, located adjacent to Transgrid's Dinawan Substation in the South West Renewable Energy Zone (SW REZ). Stage 1 of the energy hub is the 357 MW Dinawan Wind Farm (Stage 1) (the 'Project') which is the project listed on this ICN Gateway.

The Project is in the Riverina region of south-west New South Wales, approximately 60 km south-west of Darlington Point. It is halfway between the towns of Jerilderie and Coleambally. The Project is situated on the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri people and several smaller nations of the Murrumbidgee plains. The project is within the Murrumbidgee and Edward River local government area (LGA) in NSW.

The Project is being developed by Spark Renewables, one of Australia's leading developers and long-term owners of renewable energy generation assets. Spark Renewables is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Malaysia's leading utility company.

The Dinawan Wind Farm includes the installation, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of up to 53 wind turbine generators (WTGs), and associated infrastructure. The project will connect to the Dinawan Substation, under construction as part of the Project EnergyConnect interconnector that will run between Robertstown in South Australia and Wagga Wagga.

The key components of the project are:

  •  a network of 53 three-blade WTGs with a maximum blade tip height of 250 m
  •  Underground electrical connection system (33kV), collector substations and control rooms
  •  overhead electricity transmission line infrastructure (330kV), including infrastructure connecting the collector substations to Transgrid's Dinawan Substation; and
  •  temporary construction infrastructure, including workforce accommodation, construction compounds, site offices and amenities, concrete batching plants.
