Kooranowa Athletics Equipment Upgrade

Council has determined that the athletics equipment at Kooranowa Reserve, Smithfield Plains needs to be replaced due to the equipment being at the end end of its life span. The project will involve the design and construction of a new 4-lane long jump runway and sand pits and the supply and installation of 2 shot put circles. The construction will comply with the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards for structural integrity and accessibility. These will be outlined in the RFT documents where applicable. The current long jump and shot put equipment installed at the site will be removed and demolished.

There is a detailed project brief for this procurement which includes the scope of work and specific deliverables. In summary, the scope of work will include but is not limited to:

• Demolition and removal of existing long jump and shotput circles;
• Design and Construction of a new 4-lane long jump runway and sand pit; and
• Supply and installation of 2 x shot put circles.

Councils’ intentions are to have the project completed by the end of Financial Year 2025/2026.
