Tender ID: 600163
Tender Details
Tender Description
BNZ is seeking to procure a National Surveillance Strategy for exotic caulerpa that is cost-effective, accurate, and adaptable. The strategy should be designed to enable a wide range of stakeholders, including regional councils, mana whenua, and community groups to detect and monitor exotic caulerpa incursions effectively.
The strategy will need to support scalable, coordinated surveillance activities, in both areas with known exotic caulerpa infestations and those that may be at risk of infestations occurring. It will incorporate scientific, operational, and community-based perspectives to ensure practical implementation and long-term sustainability.
The strategy will need to be future proofed, consider novel research findings, and how environmental changes including climate change may impact the infestation risk profile for certain locations. The surveillance strategy will need to compliment and build on existing surveillance for exotic caulerpa including the Marine High Risk Site Surveillance, Regional Councils and community led exotic caulerpa surveillance, and passive surveillance from the public.
