Chullora Ballast Recycling Centre - Routine Sampling Program

⁠⁠⁠Project goals

The project involves engaging a qualified service provider to implement a Routine Sampling Program (RSP) at the Chullora Ballast Recycling Centre (BRC), operated by Sydney Trains. This program ensures compliance with environmental regulations by regularly sampling and analysing incoming railway ballast spoil and processed materials to verify they meet the standards set by the Environment Protection Licence and Resource Recovery Orders.

Scope

• Review background information, including relevant legislation, previous reports and results;
• Prepare and submit site safety and environmental documentation for field works
• Attend an initial Site Meeting to assist in the finalisation of work plans
• Update existing Sampling, Analysis and Quality Plan (SAQP) for the Routine Sampling Program (RSP) for incoming ballast spoil and processed materials

Undertake sampling in accordance with the approved SAQP for:

-Incoming ballast spoil;

-Processed material:

• Engineering fill;
• Capping; and
• Aggregate /ballast

-Water Quality Testing

• Assess whether or not the incoming ballast spoil and processed material comply with the Waste Classification and Guidelines and RROs, respectively.
• Produce Waste Classifications for each sampling event
• Produce Statements of Compliance for each sampling event
• Produce quarterly reports
