Tender Description
The Western Sydney Parklands Trust requires ecological management services from suitably qualified and experienced organisations for the management of the Middleton Grange and Cecil Park Biobanks.
Project goals
Implement all Management Actions required under both Biodiversity Stewardship Agreements – the Middleton Grange site (BS0111) and the Cecil Park site (BA00070) – for the period 2026-2031.
The key objectives of this engagement are to:
- Deliver all mandatory and active restoration management actions specified in the BSA Management Plan
- Achieve measurable improvement in vegetation condition, species richness, and structural complexity across all management zones.
- Control and reduce the extent of High Threat Exotic Plant species and other weeds in accordance with the Integrated Weed Management Plan
- Protect and enhance habitat for all four threatened species for which biodiversity credits have been created
- Implement erosion control and management works on identified gully erosion points across the Middleton Grange site, including diversion banks, coir log placement, woody debris installation, and rock armouring as required, to stabilise actively eroding drainage lines and prevent sediment entry to waterways
- Conduct all monitoring and reporting required under the BSA including photo point surveys, vegetation integrity assessments, threatened species surveys, and feral pest monitoring.
- Enable continued compliance by Western Sydney Parklands Trust with its obligations under the Biodiversity Stewardship Agreement and the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016
Scope
Refer to RFT Documents for full details of the scope of services, which include but are not limited to all ecological management activities required under the approved Management Plans for both the Middleton Grange Biodiversity Stewardship Site (BS0111) and the Cecil Park Biodiversity Stewardship Site (BA00070) for the contract period 2026-2031.
The contract comprises two integrated service streams: Stream 1 – Bush Regeneration and Ecological Management (both sites); and Stream 2 – Erosion Control and Erosion Management (Middleton Grange site only).
This includes:
- Native Vegetation Management
- Weed Management
- Threatened Species Habitat Management
- Erosion Control and Human Disturbance Management
- Monitoring and Reporting
