Recoating of Eildon Tower Bulkheads

Goulburn Murray Water (GMW) are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified contractor to undertake minor refurbishment and recoating of the Lake Eildon Tower Bulkheads. To provide future protection and prolong their usable life.

The project scope requires the following activities to be completed:

• Replace the existing protective coating on all 10 bulkheads with a new protective coating.
• Replace the existing rubber P-seals on each bulkhead.
• Examine the condition of the cleaned bulkhead steel after blasting and complete appropriate steel repairs if required prior to recoating.

The existing coating is a coal tar derivative and as such will require full containment during the blast cleaning phase to capture all respirable dust and aerosols.

The successful tenderer will be required to submit a proposal for full containment and decontamination of the bulkheads prior to applying a modern protective coating system. These works are considered to be a Class 6 Activity Area according to the Classes of Activity Areas listed in the PCCP’s PP-D007 document.

Tenderers are advised that GMW required a minimum of 3 separate suppliers to commence the site visit. If the site visit is cancelled, Tenderers will be made aware by Friday 14th November.
