Upgrade of welding and fume extraction system

GOTAFE is seeking to engage a suitable qualified Mechanical contractor to upgrade the welding and fume extraction system at Shepparton and Wangaratta Campus utilising the specifications and drawings provided. The works include:

• Supply & install compliant fume extraction system that is fit for purpose including appropriate ducting, filtration unit, extraction arms and controls
• Finalising detailed engineering, including duct resistance calculations, preparation of shop drawings and coordination of the downdraft table configuration
• Decommissioning, removal and disposal off the existing ventilation system
• Undertake any associated electrical, structural, roofing/flashing and other works required to facilitate the installation of new ventilation system
• Ensure system integration with existing workshop layout and infrastructure
• Ensure compliance with relevant Worksafe and Australian Standards
• Ensure airflow and pressure drop remain within fan limits and manage make-up air arrangements to suit the new set-up
• Review of switchboard capacity at both facilities and switchboard/mains upgrade as required
• Submission of test results prior to completion to show full compliance with the specifications
• Undertake all necessary work to obtain the approval of the completed works by the building surveyor
