Balranald Shire Council is seeking quotes from qualified contractors to undertake Level 2 bridge inspections in accordance with Transport for NSW and IPWEA guidelines.

Scope of Work

The contractor will be required to perform detailed visual inspections (Level 2) of nominated bridge structures. The inspections must assess structural condition, identify defects, and recommend maintenance actions.

Bridge Information Required

To facilitate accurate quoting, the following information will be provided for each bridge:

- Bridge name and unique identifier

- Location (GPS coordinates or address)

- Bridge type and material (e.g., timber, concrete, steel)

- Span and dimensions

- Year of construction and last inspection date

- Known structural issues or previous maintenance

- A GIS shp file can also be provided upon request

Certification Requirements

Inspectors must be certified under Transport for NSW or RMS guidelines and have demonstrated experience in Level 2 bridge inspections.

Deliverables

- Completed Level 2 inspection reports for each bridge

- Updated inventory and condition data suitable for entry into the Bridge Information System (BIS)

- Photographic documentation of defects and structural elements
