Horsham Rural City Council invites you to quote for the replacement of outdoor pool filter media at the Horsham Aquatic Centre. The 50 m Olympic outdoor pool is fitted with three horizontal Emaux sand filters (model H2000-4.0), each measuring 4290 mm (L) x 1470 mm (W) x 2535 mm (H).

Currently using sand media, the filters are to be upgraded to crushed glass media. The scope of work includes a pre-site inspection to confirm the shutdown schedule, step-by-step cleaning, replacement of filter media, laterals, and accessories such as internal air vents and collector pipes.

Please refer to the report for detailed procedures on replacement, maintenance, installation, testing, and commissioning.

1. Remove all existing sand media from the filters down to the base of the filter tanks, ensuring they are cleaned and prepared for the required maintenance work.
2. Identify and report any leaks or issues that require repair or rectification before installing the glass media and new laterals.
3. Inspect and replace the following: filter drains, internal air vents, collector pipework, laterals/nozzles, new seals and bolts for access hatches, and refill seals where required.
4. Thoroughly wash and clean the inside of each filter before installing the new laterals and filter crushed glass media.
5. Prepare a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) for approval, including all relevant qualifications for confined space access personnel and working at heights (if required), prior to commencement of the job.
