This project is for the design and construction of a new nature-style playground at Grampians Health (GH) Midlands Facility. The playground will be safe, inclusive, and accessible, meeting Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requirements and following the design intent of Royal Children’s Hospital: Outdoor Spaces.

Contractors are expected to use the previously prepared concept as a reference only, not a design to be replicated. The successful contractor will be required to propose and deliver the best value-for-money design solution achievable within the approved budget, incorporating nature-play principles and maximizing functionality for patients, families, and the community.

The scope includes:

•  proposal around suitable playground equipment, landscaping, and supporting infrastructure that reflect the agreed design intent;
•  developing the agreed design into build-ready documentation;
•  ensuring compliance with relevant Australian Standards, playground safety codes, and DDA requirements;
•  incorporation of ancillary elements such as seating, BBQ areas, gardens, and pathways that enhance accessibility and usability;
•  procuring and installing all playground equipment, landscaping, and associated infrastructure;
•  coordinating with GH stakeholders, including at least two design workshops, during design finalization and construction;
•  managing all approvals, certifications, and inspections;
•  delivering the completed playground by June 2026 in line with funding requirements.

Out of Scope:

•  works outside the defined playground area;
•  ongoing maintenance beyond the defect's liability period.
