Destination NSW is the lead agency for the visitor economy in the NSW Government – its champion and voice. Driving a whole-of-government approach to growth, Destination NSW (DNSW) shapes the sector through strategic research, policy leadership, stakeholder engagement, commercial partnerships, and targeted investment in experiences, business support, marketing and events.

Australia Day in Sydney 2026 will be a celebration that fosters national spirit, promotes positive identity, and celebrates diversity. The signature Australia Day Live (ADL) concert will be broadcast nationally and will take place on the Sydney Opera House (SOH) forecourt against the backdrop of Circular Quay (CQ).

The show is programmed from 7:30 to 9:30 pm for a substantial live audience in addition to the national broadcast audience. Musical performances and primary hosting take place on the SOH stage, with several key performances (shared moments) augmented by Circular Quay elements including fireworks, sound, maritime performances or displays, lighting, projections, and other outdoor theatrical elements.

Australia Day in Sydney and Australia Day Live in 2026 will be produced and managed by DNSW.
