Southern Cross Station is Australia’s largest public transportation hub with over 175,000+ daily patrons and over 6.5 million patrons monthly. The 67,000 m2 site on the western end of Melbourne’s CBD is Victoria’s busiest public transport interchange. It links interstate, regional and suburban trains and coaches in Melbourne and offers connections to major airports, tram and taxi services. It is the key interface of the Melbourne CBD and Docklands, in the fastest growing area of the city and is the busiest multi-modal transport hub in Victoria. The station interfaces with the nearby 56,000 seat Marvel Stadium via the Bourke Street Bridge, with additional patrons passing through the facility during major Melbourne events. It includes over 50 retail tenancies including fast food, a supermarket, Asian hawker Hall, a Licensed premises and the Spencer Outlet Car Park with 780 spaces.

SCS is a nationally significant, high-traffic transport interchange requiring a highly coordinated cleaning operation that ensures a world-class presentation standard, with seamless service delivery across public, platform, car park, retail, and back-of-house spaces. The way people use transport, commute, work and shop has changed, and SCS management and board are now seeking a partner to lead a multi-faceted Cleaning Service to deliver a world class facility whilst we reshape the station profile.

SCSPL is looking to partner with an established supplier to manage the Cleaning Services and each service has a distinct set of requirements but also share a number of common components (e.g. Rail Safety Requirements).

Southern Cross Station Pty Ltd (SCSPL) invites you to submit a written proposal for the provision of Cleaning Services at the Southern Cross Station precinct.

The proposed contract arrangement is a five (5) year fixed-term cleaning services contract, with two (2) additional twelve (12) month extension options exercisable at the Principal’s discretion. This provides flexibility and a performance-based approach to service continuity.
